AN ASTROLOGICAL ALLEGORY

And it was morning as God stood before his twelve Children, and into each of them planted the seed of human life. One by one each child stepped forward to receive his or her appointed gift.....
To you Aries - I give my seed first that you might have the honor of planting it. That for every seed you plant one million more will multiply in your hand. You will not have time to see the seed grow, for everything you plant creates more that must be planted. You will be the first to penetrate the soil of men's minds with My Idea. But it is not your job to nourish the Idea, nor to question it. Your life is action, and the only action I ascribe to you is to begin making men aware of My Creation. For your good work I give you the virtue of Self-Esteem.... Quietly, Aries stepped back into place.
To you Taurus- I give the power to build the seed into substance. Your job is a great one requiring patience, for you must finish all that has been started, or the seeds will be wasted to the wind. You are not to question nor change your mind in the middle, nor to depend on others for what I ask you to do. For this I give you the gift of Strength. Use it wisely.... And Taurus stepped back into place.
To you Gemini - I give the questions without the answers, so that you may bring to all an understanding of what people see around them. You will never know why people speak or listen, but in your quest for the answer you will find my gift of Knowledge.... And Gemini stepped back into place.
To you Cancer - I scribe the task of teaching people about emotion. My Idea is for you to cause them laughter and tears so that all they see and think develops fullness from inside. For this I give you the gift of Family, that your fullness may multiply.... And Cancer stepped back into place.
To you Leo - I give the job of displaying my Creation in all its brilliance to the world. But you must be careful of pride and always remember that it is My Creation, not yours. For if you forget this, people will scorn you. There is much joy in the job I give you if you but do it well. For this you are to have the gift of Honor.... And Leo stepped back into place.
To you Virgo - I ask for an examination of all that humankind has done with my Creation. You are to scrutinize their ways sharply and remind them of their errors, so that through them my Creation may be perfected. For doing this I give you the gift of Purity of Thought.... And Virgo stepped back into place.
To you Libra - I give the mission of service, that man may be mindful of his duties to others. That he may learn cooperation, as well as the ability to reflect the other side of his actions. I will put you everywhere there is discord, and for your efforts I will give you the gift of Love.... And Libra stepped back into place.
To you Scorpio - I give a very difficult task. You will have the ability to know the minds of men, but I do not permit you to speak about what you learn. Many times you will be pained by what you see, and in your pain you will turn away from Me and forget that it is not I, but the perversion of My Idea, that is causing your pain. You will see much of man that you will come to know him as animal, and will wrestle so much with his animal instincts in yourself that you will lose your way; but when you finally come back to me, Scorpio, I have for you the supreme gift of Purpose.... And Scorpio stepped back into place.
To you Sagittarius - I ask that you make people laugh, for amidst their misunderstanding of My Idea they become bitter. Through laughter you are to give man hope, and through hope turn his eyes back to Me. You will touch many lives if but only for a moment, and you will know the restlessness in every life you touch. To you Sagittarius I give the gift of Infinite Abundance, that you may spread wide enough to reach into every corner of darkness and bring it light.... And Sagittarius stepped back into place.
Of you Capricorn - I ask the toil of your brow, that you might teach men to work. Your task is not an easy one, for you will feel all of man's labors on your shoulders; but for the yoke of your burdens I put the Responsibility of man in your hands.... And Capricorn stepped back into place.
To you Aquarius - I give the concept of future that man might see other possibilities. You will have the pain of loneliness, for I do not allow you to personalize My Love. But for turning man's eyes to new possibilities I give you the gift of Freedom, that in your liberty you may continue to serve mankind wherever he needs you.... And Aquarius stepped back into place.
To you Pisces - I give the most difficult task of all. I ask you to collect all of man's sorrow and return it to me. Your tears are to be ultimately my tears. The sorrow you will absorb is the effect of man's misunderstanding My Idea, but you are to give him compassion that he may try again. For this, the most difficult task of all, I give you the greatest gift of all. You will be the only one of my twelve children to understand me. But this gift of Understanding is for you, Pisces, for when you try to spread it to man he will not listen.... And Pisces stepped back into place.
Then God said, "You each have part of My Idea. You must not mistake that part for all of My Idea, nor may you desire to trade parts with each other. For each one of you is perfect, but you will not know that until all twelve of you are ONE. For then the whole of My Idea will be revealed to each of you."
And the Children left, each determined to do his job best that he might receive his gift. But none fully understood their task or gift, and when they returned, puzzled, God said...
"You each believe that the other gifts are better. Therefore, I will allow you to trade."
And for the moment each Child was elated as he considered all the possibilities of his new mission. But God smiled as he said...
"You will return to Me many times asking to be relieved of your mission, and each time I will grant you your wish. You will go through countless incarnations before you complete the original mission I have prescribed to you. I give you countless time in which to do it, but only when it is done, can you be with Me."

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, in this month of Love, in this year of Friendship, in this 21st Century, in this wild, wonderful Universe of never ending Unconditional Love! Be Mine! Be my Valentine!

Happy Valentine Eve

I usually celebrate Valentine's Day on the Eve of Valentine's Day. The reason is not obscure- simply the celebration is less hectic when started early, and reservations are easier to get. In fact, I remember a particular Valentine Eve, when a snowstorm came in suddenly on the 13th, we couldn't get reservations for the 14th at a nice restaurant, but we got the 13th, due to the storm. When we arrived in our 4WD, we were the only ones in the entire place! Of course, not only did we recieve very special VIP service from the only waiter there, but the owner and the chef came out to talk to us and tell us how happy they were that we were there. We even offered them a ride home, due to the storm, but they said that they had to stay and get ready for the crowd they were going to have the next day.

The Healing of Medicine

Since I am intimately involved in this ongoing struggle between medicine and metaphysics, science and spirituality, being a medical professional, as well as having a passion for all of the above, I love this by Lynn Hayes in her blog, Astrological Musings:
"Chiron in Pisces: The Healing of Medicine"
It’s unusual to find an established medical professional talking about the supernatural and healing powers, but it coincides perfectly with the entry of Chiron into Pisces. At a time when the field of medicine is spiritually bankrupt and desperately in need of an overhaul, perhaps this infusion of spiritual awareness into the way we think about our physical bodies is emblematic of what Chiron in Pisces has to offer.
I like to think of Chiron as the “Soul Healer” rather than the wounded healer – Chiron is instrumental in helping to clear the emotional and physical wounds that we bring into this life so that the soul can progress. Chiron presides over the body/mind/spirit connection – the triad of influences that come together to make up the Human Being. Physical health alone is not sufficient to provide balance – the mind and spirit must also be well integrated in order to achieve optimum health.
Chiron was in Pisces in the late 1960s when Elisabeth Kubler Ross was waking up the medical establishment to a new sensitivity of death and the process of dying. Her book On Death and Dying was published in 1969 as Chiron was completing its passage through Pisces and helped to popularize the hospice care movement.
All of the talk today about health care reform is more about how to pay for health care than how to actually reform the health care system...
With Chiron in Pisces for the next nine years or so, the last stage of healing occurs at the soul level. This process began last year with the conjunction of Chiron and Neptune, the ruler of Pisces. Under this combination many of us were intensely aware of the longings of the soul within. Memories of past loves; mourning for those we’ve lost — all took on a more profound meaning as the doorway to the soul opened under Neptune’s guidance so that the healing of Chiron could begin to do its work. The Chironic healing process involves going back to the core wounds and exposing them to the air so that they can become healed. It’s not an easy process and requires a fair amount of courage, but when the healing is complete we gain a level of wisdom and cellular integration that is not otherwise possible.
While Chiron travels through Pisces there is a danger of falling into Piscean illusion which we often attempt as a shortcut on the way to spiritual bliss. Because of the tendency of Pisces to seek martyrdom and sacrifice, there is the danger of becoming lost IN the pain during the Chironic healing process rather than going THROUGH the pain as required. The Neptunian influence of Pisces tends to blur the boundaries of our relationships with others, so another danger of Chiron’s trip through Pisces is that of a codependent process of healing others rather than ourselves. Chiron represents the wound that we carry with us throughout our life – it never leaves us, which makes it tempting to try to heal the wounds of others instead. This kind of transference is not only ineffective, it can be dangerous and pollutes our relationships while preventing the soul integration that is necessary for our own healing. If we are careful not to get lost in the glamour that makes up the realm of Pisces and Neptune, there is tremendous potential during the Chiron trip through Pisces for a growing spiritual awareness and an integration of Universal consciousness into our own beings. This is the process that will carry us through any stress that results in the Cardinal alignments coming up over the next three years.
As our world shifts and changes around us, Chiron continues to facilitate the growing conversation between our inner Selves and the person that we think we are, enhancing our own experience of wholeness and, ultimately, bliss.
Bliss is not easily won in our physical world. The letting go of our individuality so that we can become reborn in the ecstasy of the divine is the lesson of Pisces, and in order to facilitate this transition we must release the individuality of Aquarius. Each sign of the zodiac leads into the next, and in this way we evolve in cycles through each turn of the wheel. This trip of Chiron through Pisces will coincide with the great social and global political clashes of Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries, suggesting that healing (Chiron) will come to us individually through a greater inward focus and attention to the spiritual side of life, a world that lies beyond the material plane. Because this is Chiron, though, in order to walk through the Piscean mists that keepus from our ultimate bliss, we must continue our healing journey and release any blocked energy from our wounded places that are holding us back so that we can move more easily into the bliss of ultimate Oneness.
