Solar X Flares
Our sun shot out a CME (coronal mass ejection) or solar X flare, as you can see in the measurement graph. NASA also took spectacular pictures of the flare leaving the sun, check them out at NASA.gov "Over the July 14-15, 2012 weekend and through the early morning of July 16, Earth experienced what's called a geomagnetic storm, which happens when the magnetic bubble around Earth, the magnetosphere, quickly changes shape and size in response to incoming energy from the sun. In this case that energy came from a coronal mass ejection (CME) associated with a July 12 X-class flare. Geomagnetic storms can create aurora visible at lower latitudes than usual, and aurora were spotted in the US as far south as Missouri and Arkansas."

Colorado Wildfire- Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs
We have been busy the last few days, making an evacuation kit, packing, making sure everyone we know and love is safe, and never knowing when it is our turn to evacuate- the entire west side of town is evacuated, including most of the mountain area, as well as the Air Force Academy- extending almost halfway to Denver! The Firefighters are battling this wildfire feverishly night and day, it is a towering inferno of epic proportions- as a Coloradoan, I have NEVER seen anything like this! Pray for the firefighters, the evacuees, and us all! We appreciate it, Thank You! Rain would also be VERY welcome!

Summer Solstice
Solstice 2012 is here, the longest day of the year! In England, the most celebrated time is now, when many Druids, and modern groups gather at Stonehenge to watch the rising of the sun over the stone monument as it lines up with the outer heel stone. It has been a sacred time for the ancient Celtic people for millenia. It has also been named Midsummer, and tonight is the midsummer's night dream! Your dream will come true- what you intend manifests for you (and me)!
Molly Hall of about.com writes "Now is the time for ripening of what was set in motion at Spring Equinox, going with the solar rhythm of seasonal intention setting. Friends in the Southern Hemisphere experience June solstice as the longest night, for soulful reflection on life's work and legacy."

New Moon in Gemini
New Moon in Gemini is a double dose of Gemini, but it seems only fitting that this would be, since Gemini is the twins, and must have 2 of everything! This Gemini moon is a second dose (after the Solar eclipse/Gemini New Moon on May 21st). Time to do something new during this new moon, some call this a blue new moon, since it is the second one in Gemini in this Lunar Cycle. 2nd chance?

Venus Transit Effects
Did you see the Venus Transit of the Sun? A very rare occurrence that won't be repeated in our lifetime- next one is 2117! This one could be seen from Colorado just before sunset, some of the pictures are spectacular! A different type of eclipse, with small, petite venus in front of and crossing the gigantic sun- female symbology crossing male symbology into a new era...

Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse
Today, which is 2 weeks from the last eclipse, is another eclipse. Eclipses travel in pairs, first on the New Moon, is the Solar Eclpse, which we saw on May 20, then on the Full Moon, is the Lunar Eclipse. Both times are great for Intentions & Manifesting! The energy is sometimes hard to handle, but handle it we must, rather than the energy getting the best of us. Usually eclipses are lucky, but sometimes difficult, nonetheless.

New Moon Solar Eclipse
This is the rare May 20, 2012 Annular Solar Eclipse with the Pleiades on a Mayan Day of No Shadows that opens a two week eclipse window ending with the partial Lunar Eclipse on June 4 followed the next day by the June 5 Venus Transit over the Sun (visible in the western United States and Hawaii) a special event that will not happen again for 105 years!
This is an annular solar eclipse, when the moon and sun align today, creating a "ring of fire" around the moon because of the sun being the larger size, also called ring of fire because it is literally in the pacific ring of fire area. Astronomers say that today's (May 20) solar eclipse will be the best the United States has seen since 1992. "The moon is going to cover 80 or 90 percent of the sun for all of the middle and western United States," Dr. Douglas Duncan, Director of Fiske Planetarium at the University of Colorado, Boulder said in a video about the event on his blog. Colorado is not in direct alignment with this celestial event, as best views are in Northern California, Nevada, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and New Mexico, still, Colorado's southwest corner should get a pretty good view, take a look at this map for the solar eclipse's path over the United States or this NASA built map showing the path of the annular solar eclipse and where it is viewable across the globe.
(Great time for Intending at The Intenders Of The Highest Good Circle tonight!) Happy Intending!
It will still be stunning to see in the rest of Colorado. Here is today's Eclipse/Intending schedule:

Supermoon 2012 & St George's Day

St George's Day
From Wikipedia:
St George's Day is celebrated by the several nations, kingdoms, countries, and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint. St George's Day is celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of Saint George's death in AD 303. For Eastern Orthodox Churches who use the Julian calendar, 23 April corresponds to 6 May on the Gregorian calendar.
As Easter often falls close to St George's Day, the church celebration of the feast may be moved from 23 April. In 2011 and 2014, the Anglican and Catholic calendars celebrate St George's Day on the first Monday after Easter Week (2 May and 28 April, respectively). Similarly, the Eastern Orthodox celebration of the feast moves accordingly to the first Monday after Easter or, as it is else called, to the Monday of Bright Week.
Celebrations
Countries that celebrate St George's Day include England, Canada, Catalonia, Croatia, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Macedonia. Cities include Moscow in Russia, Genova in Italy, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Beirut in Lebanon, Qormi and Victoria in Malta and many others. It is also celebrated in the old Crown of Aragon in Spain—Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, and Majorca

Supermoon Saturday! 5-5-5
Supermoon Saturday is here! Today is 5-5-5 as well in numerology dates. The full moon is in Perigee, which is the closest time of alignment to the earth. Tonight's "supermoon" is the biggest and brightest full moon of the year, due to the fact that the moon is near the closest point in its orbital path around Earth. Richard Nolle of Astropro.com coined the name of Supermoon in 1979, and used these moons to predict natural disasters of all types, not just from rising tides. He says that SuperMoons are noteworthy for their close association with extreme tidal forces working in what astrologers of old used to call the sublunary world: the atmosphere, crust and oceans of our home planet - including ourselves, of course. From extreme coastal tides to severe storms to powerful earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, the entire natural world surges and spasms under the sway of the SuperMoon alignment - within three days either way of the exact syzygy, as a general rule. SuperMoon solar eclipses tend to have a wider sphere of impact, extending roughly a week before and after the actual event. And other lunar extremes (of declination, for example) can extend the geocosmic stress window by a day or two here and there in any case.

May the Fourth be with You
Today, being the 4th of May, is also known as Star Wars Day! We can remember all the great Star Wars movies and tell everyone we meet today "May the Fourth be with You" as we make a light saber gesture! I have seen all the Star Wars movies several, if not numerous times- even the newest 3D version! Love them all! We are now living the storyline of Star Wars- even some recent political speeches have excerpts of the lines from these movies. Don't worry, as the legend goes- truth always triumphs over evil.

Friday the 13th & THE Number 13

13 is the original number of colonies that formed the United States. The original flag had 13 stars, one for each state. New stars have since been added whenever a new state joins the union, but the idea of adding stripes for new states was soon dropped, so the American flag to this day has 13 horizontal stripes: 6 white ones and 7 red ones. But the number 13 always became a number related to our country's symbols.
The Great Seal is one perfect example, as there have been 13:
Stripes on the Seal's emblem
Leaves on the olive branch (as well as thirteen olives)
Arrows in the other grip
Characters making up the dictum, E Pluribus Unum
Characters making up the dictum, "Annuit cœptis"
Breast coverts on the bird
Layers of bricks in the truncated pyramid
The number of guns in a gun salute to U.S. Army, Air Force and Marine Corps Major Generals, and Navy and Coast Guard Rear Admirals Upper Half.
This year, 2012, we have 3 Friday the 13th days, spaced 13 weeks apart! Truth is always stranger than fiction! Happy Friday 13th!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter to all today! The full pink moon is really making an awesome background in the sky for this holy weekend- Passover, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday (also Holy Thursday, and Easter Monday). All the flowers seem to be pink at this time of year as well and the pastels of the colored eggs reflect the pink hue. It all says spring is here, Christ is risen and all is well with the world.

Leonardo's Earthshine Moon

Also known as the Moon's ashen glow, Earthshine is Earthlight illuminating the Moon's night side. Taken on Nowruz, the March 20 equinox, from Esfahan, Iran, planet Earth, this telescopic image captures strong Earthshine from an old Moon. The darker earthlit disk is in the arms of a bright sunlit crescent. But the view from the Moon would have been enchanting too. When the Moon appears in Earth's sky as a slender crescent, a dazzlingly bright, nearly full Earth would be seen from the lunar surface. The Earth's brightness due to reflected sunlight is known to be strongly influenced by cloud cover. Still, a description of Earthshine, in terms of sunlight reflected by Earth's oceans in turn illuminating the Moon's dark surface, was written 500 years ago by Leonardo da Vinci. He used backward or mirror writing to document his discoveries to keep most of them secret, but his drawings are exquisite, as everyone can see!
